There is currently an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, resourceful and talented individual for the role of IT Project Manager. This position is based in our Toronto, ON office and reports into the VP, IT.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Manage the relationship with the key clinical trial data centre and ensure the
Project is tracked effectively.
Implementation of assigned IT applications in accordance with client’s project management practices.
Bring Best Project Management Practices into a well-funded clinical research start-up environment for all IT projects.
Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed.
Participates in the evaluation of computer applications and potential vendors. Makes recommendations based on the requirements of client.
Provides project guidance, direction and setting of priorities to the client organization while fostering the development of high professional standards
for IT personnel.
Maintains a close relationship with the client groups to assist in providing guidance; assesses requirements for additional service and promotes use of IT services where appropriate.
Coordinates and oversees the activities of the direct report and ensures that all activities are performed in a competent and efficient manner.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Post-secondary education (Computer Science or Information Technology Management (MIS) degree)
Minimum 5years of experience in IT project management following standard project methodologies
Minimum 5 years of people management experience including both project teams and direct report(s)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Experience with management and support of lab systems
Experienced in implementation, maintenance, management of IT systems.
Ability to understand and clearly explain information systems methods, processes, principles and development methodologies to other members of the organization
Highly flexibly and ability to work independently
Able to manage change effectively
Analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent leadership and organizational skill
Excellent communication and team-building skills

Entrepreneurial thinker. Experience building Project Management practices from the ground up.
