Contracts Manager
The Contracts Manager will provide contract management and issue management support for research-related agreements in connection with the conduct of CCTN-sponsored clinical trials. He/she will work with external vendors and directly negotiate cost, business and contractual terms and conditions with investigators/institutions, making changes to contract templates within CCTN-approved parameters. In performing their duties, the Contracts Manager will lead and develop relationships with key investigational sites across the contracting and budgeting interface. The incumbent will require demonstrated experience and an in-depth understanding of contracting principles and applicable regulations governing clinical research
Major Responsibilities:
· deliver investigator / institution research-related agreements in prescribed timelines
· serve as clinical sites’ primary contract administrator for the CCTN, including the negotiation and drafting of legal documents such as contracts, leases, releases, and waivers
· ensure that the CCTN enters into mutually beneficial contractual agreements and ensure that parties adhere to their respective contractual obligations by negotiating in an agreed legal and budgetary framework
· with clinical and departmental partners, analyze and develop per-subject costing and investigator contracting models
· monitor adherence to agreed upon contractual obligations and budgets
· manage issue resolution, cycle time reduction and process improvement; provide periodic status reports
· develop relationships with assigned institutions/investigators to maintain contractual, budgetary and professional relationships
· negotiate MSAs with investigator sites/institutions as appropriate
· together with Purchasing staff, creates and implements procedures that enable and enhance education, tracking, monitoring, due diligence, and administration of CCTN contracts;
· seeks out, implements and maintains best practices in all contracting activities;
· work collaboratively with other Finance Dept staff to develop and administer a risk assessment program as it relates to contract risk assessment and administration;
· Other assigned duties.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution;
· At least 3 years contracts management experience in a clinical research/pharmaceutical environment
· Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills with persons in diverse work groups and with differing skill levels;
· Demonstrated strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
